Last night was spent at our local emergency clinic where Keeva's flu which seemed to be very mild, except for the up and down fever, since Sunday had flarred up. She was now stuffed up, with tummy pains, totally lethargic, a heart that was in her words "beating by itself" and a temp of 103.8. Thankfully we were seen immediately and given Tamiflu and sent on our jolly way. When we got home she seemed a little more lively. Then an hour later she began throwing up and I got the fright of my life when I saw bright blood falling from her into the toilet bowl as she wretched, thank godness it was just a bad nosebleed. She flaked out after that and her temp began to soar again. I gave her Motrin and we went to bed where we cuddled with my hand placed on her chest so I would feel any change in her breathing. All I could feel was an insanely strong heart beat.....when I took my hand away I could still feeel it on my hand. Horrible thoughts started to fill my head. Eventually I drifted off. When I woke a few hours later I was very happy to find , for the first time since Sunday that her little body no longer felt like a furnance. It was normal...no fever. She has just now gotten up from bed and she is a little groggy but much more like our Keeva, no fever, no shivers, just a runny nose and she doesn't want to take her medicine....a sure sign she is feeling better as the past few days no matter what she was offered she gladly took it to try to relieve the feelings she was having. Hello Tamiflu - goodbye flu!

I just now catching up on weeks worth of blog posts, I too have a crazy schedule and hardly find time to be online. So sorry that Keeva was sick for so long but it's good to hear that she's doing better. I hope that all the sickness leaves your home and that you have a wonderful holiday season.

Good grief...I know how scary the flu is(Piper had it in Hong Kong), and I empathise with the sheer terror you feel as a parent! I'm so glad she is feeling better...gotta love tamiflu, it worked like a charm in HK, but...our pediatrician put Piper in the high risk catagory for getting the H1N1 shot not because she's high risk, but because she was concerned that IF she got the flu the 'tamiflu' would not work as well because it had only been 18 months.

hugs to you all!
